As I wait for McAfee to respond to a question on how to get its firewall running
again after installing SP2, I've come up with another problem caused by installing
SP2. I cannot reach my other computers on My Network Places. Someone told me I could
solve this problem by going to Control Panel->Admin Tools->Services and then
scrolling through the list to Windows Firewall/Sharing to disable that service. Found
it (Windows Fwall/Inter Sharing) and disabled it, but now when I try to access
Network Places, I get a message saying that it can't find the GALAXY workgroup:
"Galaxy not accessible. You might not have the permssion... Contact administrator..."
My XP machine doesn't even show up, which is part of the Galaxy workgroup.

Networking with XP is very Service dependant and the Service's
themselves have interdependencies. Firewall is dependant on the
Network Connections, which needs the Remove Procedure call.
Stopping Services "Willy-Nilly" isn't good advice. Put Firewall on
Automatic or you'll just compound your problems and make it
twice as hard to fix.

I certainly agree that it didn't fix the problem, and will reset to automatic. Aside
from that, what is the solution?
