Well,

After a long debate with myself, I went ahead and downloaded SP1 for my
old system. I had installed a new Logitech camera that was using the
Lv???.exe driver or something. Anyway, unplugged the camera and
deactivated the Logitech programs in the startup for all users.

Installed SP1.

Rebooted.

Came back after several hours.

Re-Attached the USB devices.

Everything works. For the moment, I have the Logitech entries still
DISABLED in the startup.

Could have done with a few twists and turns in the tale to make it
interesting. I doubt many Hollywood movies will be inspired by the story as
it currently stands. Needs a bit more work.

Holy Smokes....
Surprising to hear this, I wondered if there was anyone with such a story
like myself, with ppl constantly bashing vista and SP1 too....

Well, I had everythng working perfectly (still do), jus this small problem
Though,

I wonder why ppl bash vista.... To me it is the most stable windows version
ever, Including XP, I still run XP on my old PC, though only because I dont
want my dad to be overwhelmed by the Vista Experience.

Ppl who bash vista are the ones who have never tried it, or the ones who
dont have proper hardware to have vista.... x64 vista jus Rocks....

I don't bash without trying first.
So far,
(1) Someone at Microsoft suggested I don't try Vista. My system was
too old.
(2) Too many people having issues; I'm guessing because ALL the
hardware vendors have tried to stay away from Vista. Even my workplace
refuses to have Vista on the network.
(3) It came with no strings attached... my brother bought several
copies from a business GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE. My brother said give
it a try and even gave me a 120G Hard Drive to install it on.

I tried it... and it is a bit of a shock at first. But the features
are very good.

Noticed Differences:
(1) Boots faster than Windows 2000. (it could have been all the extras
I had installed on 2000)
(2) Works well; though I have Vista Premium on a Dual Processor system.
