Logitech QuickCam

Hi all

I have Home Premium (came on the system when I bought it). I have installed
my Logitech QuickCam with the latest drivers from their website and it works
without any problems, great quality etc etc.

However, every time I restart my PC, log into a different profile, or simply
unplug the camera from USB and re-insert (into the same USB slot) it says
that it has found new hardware and needs to install driver software for the
microphone part of the camera. This is the only one of the 7 USB items that
are plugged into my system that does this. Installing the driver is not a
problem, as it is already in the system, however it is getting a bit
annoying and that is worse than it not working,

Any thoughts?

Win2K Pro and Server MCP - those were the days.

I vaguely remember something similar happening to me with my Logitech camera
in XP. I then found that some of the Logitech registry entries had wrongly
set permissions (some were with no permissions whatsoever). I then assigned
all of them full permissions for System and for the Admin group, and the
problem disappeared.
