SP1 is no longer a update at 3 failuers

Ok I went to update SP1 and after 2 days and about 5 hours I was only at 31%
with a 1.5MB connection. So in doing a search I downloaded the full 750MB
SP1 update and went to run the EXE file but it stated it would not install
since I had all the language packs installed. Now that that install failed
SP1 is no longer listed as an available update. I do not see that SP1 was
updated to my PC. Any idea on what is causing this issue?

Thanks

Yes, it will not install unless you uninstall the language packs.

When you have SP1 installed, SP1 compatible language packs will re-appear in
Windows Update..

The language packs as first released were not compatible with SP1.

The packs recently released back into Windows update are..

Thanks m8. Based on my post of yesterday and this thread, it's all

I hate to ask but how do I uninstall them? I went to "control panel" then
to "uninstall programs" but none of the packs are listed. I am not sure
where to find them to uninstall them. I did a search and did not find an
answer.

Thanks,

Never mind found it.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click Clock, Language, and Region, click Regional and
Language
Options, and then click Change display language.
3. On the Keyboard and Languages tab, click Install/uninstall languages
under
Display language. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for
confirmation,
type the password, or click Continue.
4. In Choose to install or remove languages, click Remove languages.
5. Under Select the languages that you want to remove, select the language
that you
want to remove, and then click Next.
6. Click the language that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

I've now reinstalled latest language packs, final installer prerequisite
patch (others were installed in March 2008) and new windows installer.

Patches were subsequently configured during system reboot. I then had
Windows Update search for new packages; it found nothing over bog
standard April security updates for pre-SP1.

SP1 is still not available via windows update. Wot am i doing wrong
here, if anything????

Why didn't you use the SP1 standalone which you have already downloaded?..

Sorry, to hijack Neal's thread, but those were his words, not mine.

Anyway, I found the problem and I'm right in the middle of it's resolution:

Cause 7 was my problem. It was all those security updates that required
installation. Those are now installed and now I have my SP1 offering via
Windows Update. : ) : )
