SP1 Problem

I'm running Windows XP Home Addition.

I recently downloaded and installed SP1 as recommended.
Since I did that, my computer won't recognize my Epson C82
printer. As near as I can tell, the computer doesn't even
know the printer exists.

I did not archive the files when I downloaded SP1 because
I've never had problems with Windows updates in the past.
Can someone tell me what's going on and how can I fix this?

Hi,
look at the device manager.Is it there?
go to the printer manufacturer's website and download,install the latest
driver.Hope that will fix it.

If it is a parallel printer you could try removing and re-detecting the
parallel port
