SP1 Key - Lost XP CD

I just got a new machine to swap from my old one. Problem here is that I have
lost my Win XP Pro CD which was bought way before SP1 appeared. I just tried
installing with a borrowed XP Pro SP2 CD and it says my key is not valid. Is
there a way to solve this?

Are you using the same type of CD, Retail keys only work with Retail
CDs, OEM keys only work with OEM cds.

Is retail, from a nice packaged XP Box.

SP2c is an OEM specific Service Pack which introduced a new Product
numbering scheme which cannot use prior keys but as far as I know that
is only supposed to apply to OEM versions, I'm not sure why you cannot
use your older retail Product ID with the new retail SP2 version, maybe
somebody else has a better answer, perhaps SP2c is now also used with
the newer retail versions?
