SP 2 Update

After a mother board failure, I had to do a repair install of windows XP home
edd.
when trying to do the sp2 upgrade I got a access denied failure to install.
I did a verbose check and found the failure is do to update. inf, ok, what
now, did something not install when i did the repair install ?
any
help or advice would be great, by the way i have 3 200 gig drives and I do
not want to have to reinstall everything on them to do a clean install of
windows. thanks bill

all of the above have been done, thats how i found out that update. inf was the problem, there were no reports of reg. keys thanks
