Windows Update won't!

After a mobo failure I have replaced it, did a repair install as the
board was different to the original and have activated fine. I did a
few updates with no problems. Now however when I try to update now, it
tells me there are 85 updates needed and they all download and verify
fine but none of them install? Is there a log somewhere I can see why
they don't install even though update seems to think I need them?

Well after a bit of googleing I came across this --

absolutely magic! Ran it and selected the Windows Update section, let
it do its stuff, rebooted and it's now working fine. This little gizmo
fixes quite a few other problems as well!

Hi Len Cuff,

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a
Windows XP installation
