SP-1 Will Not Enter Hybrid Sleep

C

Chick

I waited for SP1 to RTM before ordering a new High End computer. To avoid any
misunderstandingst this is not a Beta or a release candidate this is the
final SP1 that was RTM.
I have followed every recomendation I could find on line or from Velocity,s
tech support including settings in Power Management and Bios. I have disabled
anything that was capable of waking up my computer in "Device Manager,
disconnected all USB devices except keyboard and mouse, checked for driver
updates, etc.

The result is still the same! When I click on the icon next to start with
the ballon that says, "Save your session and puts your computer in a low
power state....." The monotor goes to black and everything else keeps running!

What is more frustrating is is to wake it up requires a hard shutdown with
the power button followed by a restart.

Any help getting me out of Sleep Hell would be gratly appreciated.

Have you tried regular Sleep mode or Hibernate mode?

Yes, I tried regular sleep mode with the same result. I forgot to mention in
my original post that I have never used any kind of a disk or registry
cleaner on this machine.

:
If I set regular Hibernate after a given time it works.
