How can I assign a sound to a function that does not
already have one?????

Control Panel
- | Sounds and Audio Devices |
- /Sounds\,
in the Program events list, a speaker icon indicates
that a sound is associated with that event.

Click on the event,
choose from "Sounds:" or [Browse]
and then under "Sound Scheme:" [Save As]
[OK]

Thankyou, but.......what if there is an event that is not
listed. I tried creating one but it did not work.

Thanks

Events are coded into an application program, and they
should be "listed".

Exactly how did you attempt to create an "event"?

| I cant find that program (Internet Explorer) list though
| in the control panel sounds...

There are four events specific to "Windows Explorer",
but no events specific to "Internet Explorer".

All that I can suggest is to use the global events...

Windows
- (*) Close Program
- (*) Open Program

which will unfortunately sound when *_ANY_* program opens
or closes.
