Hope this is the right place to ask. I was baby sitting my Grandson and he
was playing on his Mother's computer. He is 3 so he was playing Dora the
Explorer {which has a lot of sounds so I know the sounds were there,} than
the electric went out for a sec. The computer shut off. When I booted it back
up we have no sounds. I went in the control panel/sound, and everything
looks good, when I click a sound, preview ,it works but no sound. {I mean it
is NOT grayed out} The speaker has light on so I no it is plugged in. The PC
is in a tight spot so I reach behind best I could and jiggle speaker wire and
I hear static so the speakers work. The computer is at my daughter’s house so
when I go there I would like to have a idea of what to look for or what to do
so I don’t have to do the searching there. It will be nice to be prepared.
