when I bought XP I transferred data from windows 98; the result was deafening: no sound at all!
What to do about it .. reading complaint-e-mails, all concerning the same problem, Windows ha
here a general faillure. Expecting the utmost will be done to solve this problem

When you upgraded from 98 to XP your soundcard drivers were not upgraded. You'l
need to upgrade drivers to have sound if the card is compatible with XP. Good luck.
