Sound

I am using Windows XP SP2. All of a sudden, i can hear no sound. I've tried
to uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers. Still no sound. I don't think
there is a problem with the hardware because i've another OS installed in the
machine which plays sound! Any inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Kelly,
I didn't install any new audio program nor replaced my sound card. I might
have applied windows updates but i am not sure when exactly the sound went
off. Anyways, from the link you game me, i went to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q307918

And the problem seemed to be that 'line in' & 'wave' were muted. I unchecked
them both and now i can hear sound again! I don't why and how that happened
but thanks mate for your input.

Same problem as what? You haven't quoted any of the message to which you
reply. Many folks use a newsreader and only download the latest messages so
previous messages in a thread are not visible. Also it's not a good idea to
post about a new problem as a reply to someone else's thread. Start a new
one and give relevant information. This is a peer to peer support
newsgroup, not an email one on one support newsgroup. Replies are normally
kept in the newsgroup so all can benefit. Lastly it's not a good idea to
post your unmunged email address. It will get harvested by the spammers.
