sound

We are unable to get any sound from our speakers. They
were working fine, we had to disconnect the computer
because we moved to a new house and when we hooked the
computer up we have no sound. Yes they are plugged into
the right places. Mic works just have no sound. Sound
card is a via ac'97. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
 
I would plug and re-plug them a few times, lot's of dust
gets pulled into the sockets and they will not make
contact.
