Sound

Can someone help me??? I can't get any sound from my
laptop despite checking volume,troubleshooting, articles
etc.

My laptop DOES have sound - I had sound prior to it
crashing a week ago. I needed to use the restore disc. Pc
working fine but no sound!!!

I remember having problems when I had it first and someone
on this forum helped me. I seem to remember using a drop
down menu and switching a command off or on ( can't
remember which) Incidentally the instructions he gave
didn't seem to have anything to do with sound properties
but whatever it was, it worked! Trouble is I can't
remember what I did.

Did you go to the control panel and double click on sound
devices? From there, check ALL your settings. Probably
some little volume control is defaulted to 0. This
happened to me once after a crash. Turned out my midi or
wav volume setting was at 0.
