Could you guys tell me a GOOD program for unlimited time recording sounds?
Should better than that crap from WIN XP

StepVoice Recorder is a real-time recording software that records directly
to MP3 format. It comes with an easy to use interface and allows recording
from any sound source, such as microphone, line input, media players,
internet streaming audio, etc (using standard Windows mixer controls). It
can automatically select the frequency or you can change settings manually.

It is now shareware, but an old freeware version can be found in the WayBack
archive:
