Sound will not go no matter what!

I have MP3 files that i want to play in my slide show. I have done this a
dozen times and followed the directions in the "help" section. No matter what
i do it does not play even though it shows that it is. The music is added, I
see it in custom animation and in the icon on the screen. I know the file is
good because it plays on Windows Media Player. But when I press play,
nothing. My volume is up and I have tried everything I can find. Any ideas?

I would put the PPT file in a folder directly on the harddrive -- like
C:\test. Put the MP3 in there, too, then insert the
MP3 into the presentation. This tests whether the issue is simply a path
length issue.

It could also be a DRM -- digital rights management -- issue. Where did
these MP3 files come from?

If you have a wav format sound file you will need to change the file size.
Convert it to MP3 then convert it agin according to the link below.
It worked for me.

If it's an mp3 a lttle trickery is needed.
