I wondered if there is a way to split sound. What i mean is that i want to
listne to music and use a program called ventrillo. its a program that lets
you talk to people using a headset etc. So i want my music to play from my
speakers and all the ventrillo conversation only to come through on my
headset.

just because you want it to be, doesn't make it so.

if you want it so bad, invent it, or find someone who makes software that
will do it, personally I think it can't be done, only one output at a time,
or use two computers one playing your music, the other you can access
whatever.

That could be possible if each application, ventrillo and your music
player (whatever it is), each had the ability to specify separate audio
outputs AND you had two soundcards (each having their own outputs)
installed.

You would need 2 sound cards, and the patience to sort out all the
problems. Go buy a cheap MP3 player instead.
