Bluetooth Headset Not Working - Driving Me Crazy

I'll give you every piece of info I have:
Thinkpad T40p, XP-SP2, all updates!
I have Bluetooth devices in control panel.
It shows my headset under devices: Motorla HT820
Options Tab: Tried "Trun Discovery on" checked and not checked.

Anyway... I want to listen to music through the headset. When I go to the
sound properties to switch the default to Bluetooth headset it is not listed.
Therefore it doesn't work.

Also- I don't have a My Bluetooth Places anywhere. I have seen that
mentioned before.

I spent 2-3 hours web browsing and reading and can not find an answer. HELP!

Jerid,
Do you still have the software cd's that came with the laptop? There are a
few computers that I had to set up that had the bluetooth installed and
listed a "my bluetooth places" or "bluetooth manger." I came to find out
that these pieces of software were on a cd and not installed by the
manufacturer when the pc was set up. Otherwise, I would go to the website
and see if you can download the software for your bluetooth device.
Hope this helps,

Thanks!
I did download the IBM version, but My Bluetooth Places wouldn't work. After
reading more and testing I figured this out. Maybe it will help someone else:
Software from IBM downloaded the right drivers, but installed MS drivers for
the bluetooth with the IBM software. I then changed those drivers to the IBM
drivers (WIDCOMM) that was buried in the setup software. Ba-da-bing it works.

So you where right kenkcj, I just neeed to do some driver tweaking.

I listen to tunes at work and find myself taking headphones on and off to
slide around my office. These will be awesome... won't have to disconnect to
move 4 feet to grab a file!

Jerid,
I'm glad everything worked out, and I know how you feel about the music
deal. I thought about getting some of those bluetooth headsets as well, but
instead, I now have music on my phone that I listen to through some
headphones when I'm walking around the office to work on others computers.
Anyways, sometimes the Microsoft drivers can cause issues, so if you notice
them on the MS update site, ignore them and check the manufacturers website
to see if they have a newer version than what you have.
Best of luck, and enjoy the new wireless music!

Same problem. Though i installed Bluetooth software bundle of my USB
Bluetooth Dongle, after some reboots, "my bluetooh places" is
inaccessible, has no effect. It's transparent.

Is there a solution for this?
