sound problems

hi, I am having problem w/my sound system noticed a few
days ago it was working fine but now nothing I am running
windows XP and the little icon on my taskbar is no longer
there on
startup for the volume I put a CD in and that works but
getting no sound for my e-mails w/attachments that have
sound for them?????? All help will be appreciated.. thanks

I had the same problem and then I changed the setting for the parallel port
in the BIOS to EPP. This has solved my problem with the sound missing and
the icon is on the task bar.

Give it a try.
