Sound problems - Sony Laptop T Series VGN-T140

I installed RC1 (I still can't find a link for RC2 anywhere!) and everything
works fine except my sound card and the function keys and DVD keys. Any
ideas would be very much appreciated as I'd love to use Vista on this
machine. I looked in the device manager and it says the sound card is
installed fine and working properly but there is no sound.
 
Try right clicking on the speaker down in the system tray, and clicking
Playback Devices and highlight the one that says "Speakers <insert name of
sound card here" and then click Set Default and then Apply and OK. Also
check the volume and if it still does not work, please file a bug report
with the area set as Hardware / Drivers and sub-area set to Audio. Include
the PNP ID from Device Manager in your bug report as that helps MS to work
on the issue quicker.
