Sound problem

sound device has gone, need to install new audio controller; I think.
looking for help
 
I have no sound. How do i fix this problem? Do i have to install sound?

So get the audio controller CD and re-install from it !

Seriously, you need to provide more info - like what you were doing prior to
it disappearing, did you install any new software, what you PC sound card is
etc.

Ok. I don't know much, but I do know you guys are going to have to
shell out a lot more information. Explain everything. What happened
when, what you think you want to do, what kind of a sound device you
have (part of Motherboard or separate card), etc etc etc. Maybe it is
just the driver (a file) that is screwed up.

Oh, by the way Morag, you should not use your real email address in
Usenet here. Your email address will be harvested and you will become
a target of virus-attached email or get on a list and get sent repeat
mail by the 1000s (worm). Just put in a fake email address in your
settings if you are using a 3rd party newsgroup reading program.
(I don't know if you are using Outlook Express to do both email &
newsgroups if you can do this).
