sound problem after mainboard upgrade

this is driving me crazy, I updated my motherboard to
asus p4s8x-x, and cpu to 2.4 g intel, now my old slave
drive is not recognized by winxp, it is by the bios???
also the sound blaster live ceased to function, so I
removed it to sort out the irq etc,,, now winxp will not
install the drivers for the motherboards ac 97 sound
chip, just throws up error messages, drivers not
installed, will not intsall because not signed etc
any help appreciated thanks

When trying to install the drivers if it advises that the drivers are not
signed just continue and install them anyway.

Did you do the repair install????
