Hi All,

Since having to rebuild my Windows XP Pro system, with Office Pro 2003, I
have no sound events for Outlook or Windows Messenger.

I have reviewed MS Article ID 246643 which discusses this for Outlook 2000
(I can't find any reference to 2003), and comply with all their suggestions,
but still don't have any sounds for these events.

I have searched everywhere I can think of, but haven't found anything
relevant.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could resolve this, or point me
to somewhere I may find a solution?

Thanks in advance
Steve

"I have no sound events for Outlook or Windows Messenger"

Does sound in general work for you?
Check Control Panel-> Sounds and Audio Devices if there are indeed sounds
linked to these events. Use the Play button to see if you can preview the
sound.

Hi Roady,

Yes, Win Media Player works fine for video and audio

Yes, when I preview play the sound linked to the event they all work fine in
the Control panel

Hi again - well, 4 months down the track I still haven't resolved this
issue, but have found a work-around.

For anyone else who may have this problem and can't resolve it, I got around
it by setting up a rule to play a sound when all emails come in. Not the
best solution, but it works

The rule reads:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
where my name in in the To or Cc box
and on this machine only
play PHASER.WAV
and display a Desktop Alert

If anyone has the solution (as opposed to the work-around), I'd love to hear
it.

Kind regards
