Sound Issue

I'm attempting to simply add a 2-3 MB .mp3 file into a PowerPoint
presentation and I can't get the file to run. The presentation has several
other .mp3 files that run perfectly. The file runs fine outside of PP, but
will not run within so I don't think the file would be corrupted. I've
tried converting the file to .wma, .wav, etc. with no joy. I've added a
blank slide at the end of the line and tried putting it there(to see if
there may have been an issue with the slide on which I want to put
it)....with no success. I'm flummoxed. Lucky I'm out of ammo.

Anyone? thanks.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? You say the file runs fine
outside of PowerPoint. What program are you using to play it?. If you want
to send me the .mp3 file so I can give it a shot, send it to
(e-mail address removed) and I'll try it at this end.You could also look at Austin

It depend on your version of powerpoint .
Notice: PowerPoint just accepts mp3 and WAV music files. So make sure
you have taken the right sound format during the first step.
The best format to download songs in is in the MP3 format. This has
the smallest file size. However there is one big problem with mp3
files - you can only link but not embed mp3 files into PowerPoint.
(This will not be possible if you are downloading music from the Apple
iTunes service. If you have downloaded music from Apple istore you
will first need to convert them to mp3 format
http://www.bpurcell.org/blog/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=1036) You will
also need to make sure that you have all of the copyright permissions
and performing rights clearances to be able to store the music in your
presentation.
Step 2. Insert the music in your PowerPoint presentation.
From the main menu Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from file
Step3.set up the effect of the sound files.
Here is a tutorial article for you:
