sound is feeding back from mic to headphones

Hi sorry to ask this but i have a new headset and just wondered if it was
normal for the sound to feed back from the mic to the headphones

Hello,

Mute the mic in the volume controller (double-click on the loudspeaker icon
on the bottom right). Sound will still pass, just that you will not hear it.
