Sound from the speaker in the case

Hi,

I don't know if I pressed any wrong button or what, but the fact is that
since one week, when I download my mail, I get a beep sound from the speaker
in the case.
In addition, I have noticed the same sound when I empty the recycle bin.
All the rest works fine and I haven't noticed any problem.

My system is W2K and is protected by Norton Internet Security 2004.

Any idea?

Go to Start/Settings/ControlPanel/SoundsAndMultimedia, and fiddle with
the activity-based sound settings there.

Or see if in the laptop's BIOS there is a setting for the BEEP, and
disable it.
