sound from mic socket

hello again

onboard VIA ac97 sound (asus k8vmx) get no sound when my speakers are
plugged into the speaker jack

however when plugged into the mic socket the sound works fine

there was a similar bug in a xp64 beta/driver

AC97 sound chipsets can change which plug is which depending on if the sound
setup is 2, 4 or 6 channel. Have you looked at the speaker configuration tab
in the AC97 control panel? If everything looks good there, then you should
file a bug on this.
