Sound Forge

..I have recently installed Windows and after re-installing Sony SoundForge
7.0 when I try to record I get a message saying "The 'Microsoft Sound Mapper'
recording device does not support one or more of the current format
parameters (sample rate, numberof channels, or bits per sample)"

On earlier installations of Sound Forge this problem never occurred.

Where do I find Sound Mapper and how do I configure it?

A quick Google on the error message indicates that this is not a
Microsoft-specific issue. The name of whatever your recording device
happens to be is inserted in that message. Check with the software maker
for a fix or advice.

Google Query: sound forge "recording device does not support"

Unless Sony bought them out, believe "SoundForge" is a 3rd party software
independent of Sony or Microsoft.
Has been around for a long time, highly regarded for mixing, adjusting etc.
sound.
Google shows that Sony is holder of the software now, too bad.

Try updating your soundcard drivers. Setup SoundForge for optimal
performance with your particular soundcard.
