I have a weird sound fault on my pc...when clicking on anything or trying to
play songs...or clciking anything really, i get a short 'ripping' sound. Its
as though someone is ripping a piece of paper. When i try to play a song
that i have on media player there is no other noise other than the ripping
sounds continously (sounds like an old spectrum computer loading a game!).
The speakers on my computer appear to be ok and are connected properly....can
anyone help???

Sounds strange... I would try removing the audio drivers from the computer
and then rebooting. Windows should pick them up again. To do this - go into
device manager by right clicking on "My computer" and hit properties and then
go to device manager. find the audio drivers and hit remove. hit ok. reboot.
if they dont come back then go back to device manager and hit refresh / scan
for new hardware. that should work. What might be a good idea to do first is
test your speakers by putting some headphones in the same jack and listen to
the sound quality - if its ok then you know your speakers are playing up!
