I have laptop - windows XP - my computer is working Great - suddenly seems to
have no sound icon...or sound device ....

HOW do I install a sound device?

go to your laptop's manufacturer website. there you should find all the
software and drivers pertaining to the laptop..... including the sound
device. afterwards check you sound n audio settings in control panel...
