Sound card

I just downloaded the creative labs driver for my sound
blaster live xgamer, and since the windows update it has
made the audio hq not work. I still get all the sounds,
but can not use the included applications. I tried
uninstalling the sound card and when xp reboots it
automatically detects the card and install the drivers
just downloaded from windows update. It also overrides
the service patch from creative. Can someone please help?

Have you created a restore point recently you can restore
to. I always create a restore point prior to downloading
Windows drivers (iffy). I ran into a similar problem
with a video driver this week and the only solution was
to restore.
