sound card

a friend reformated my computer due to virus', and now i dont have any sound.
How do i get sound? and it says i dont have a sound card. i dont have any
instalation cd's for sound....

If you don't have a sound card installed then you most likely have
on-board sound (sound card is on the motherboard) You will need to find
out what motherboard you have.

Use SISoftware sandra to get this info. http://www.sisoftware.net/
Once you find that out go to the manufactures site and download the
drivers for your motherboards integrated sound card.

Or check that the speakers aren't on mute.
