sound card set up drivers`

My buddy set up a computer that has 2000 with the newest service packs and
updates..I cant get the sound card to work. The hardware installer found the
media device but I cant find the drivers to install, I tried all files that
might have and .inf file..no luck. The sound card is inside the mother
board. I couldn't find any info on the mo board but a few numbers and
letters printed on it. Any ideas?

If the sound is intergrated into the motherboard, the drivers are obtained
from the motherboard site.
Beleric Advisor may assist in identifying your mobo
PS You should obtain all drivers, mobo chipset & others from the
manufacturers sites & not rely on winupdate

The asus site wont open but I did get cmaudio drivers and installed them and
all looks good but no sound..I opened the sound properties all is checked and
no luck. I guess I'll just get a external sound card..Any ideas?
