My client has asked that I add the registered mark to an animated gif on
their pages. I know how to make it in html, but this would involve just
adding it as regular text on the pictures in the animation software. I use
a notebook, and can't seem to figure out how to make the symbol without the
seperate numerical keyboard. alt-0174 doesn't work, I just get dings
letting me know I'm trying to do something I shouldn't. I've seen that I
should look for the character map, using win xp here, but I don't seem to
have that on my computer. Any suggestions?

Nevermind, I just realized that I could install character map from my
windows cd, so I'm all set.

Yep, I've found that problem, right now it looks like the animation is
playing soccer with the symbol.

Character map, for me, is under Start menu > accessories > system tools. Of
course the location depends on how your system is set up.

But if you don't have it, then install it from Add/Remove Programs (Windows
components).

I think it is actually installed by default, but in your case maybe not.
