Sorting messages

Hi all
Outlook for Office XP 2002

Is it possible to sort messages by more than one field?
I mean: I want it sorted primarily by (eg) subject, but where there are
multiple posts with the same subject header those posts should be subsorted
by date.

I tried clicking on the Date header, first to sort by date, then I clicked
on the subject header to sort by Subject, but the dates were no longer in
order within the same subject.

Thanks in advance.

Try the By Conversation View.

If that doesn't work as you like, you can set up your own sorting. I
recommend that you start with a new named view, so you don't mix it up with
your other views, using View | Current View | Define Views. You'll have a
dialog where you can set the sort you want.
