Edit subject and arrange by conversation

Hi all,

I know I can edit the subject of a received message in Outlook.
I do this. When I save the edited message, the new subject shows up.
I usually do this because my mail service provider keeps altering my email subjects by adding a "SPAM" in front of the original subject.

If I arrange items by date or by from, subjects in the folder item list show up correctly (edited). If I arrange items by conversation (quite handy!), then subjects in the folder item list show up incorrectly (original subject with "SPAM").

I digged a bit, it appears that although the subject is indeed edited, the Internet headers of the message are not altered. It could be that "by conversation" sorting reads the subject from the Internet header of the message.

My question: is there a way to keep my messages sorted by conversation AND have the edited subject show up?.

I'm looking for a way to do this also. The only way I've figured out so far is to change the email subject, then forward the thread to myself. Once received, the conversation field will have taken on the new subject name and I can then keep them together the way I want. Painful, but workable..

You can edit the subject in the inbox - open the message and click in the
subject field (yes, its editable!) but this won't change threading by
conversation since the conversation id cant be edited. You would need to
group by subject for them to group by the subject field.
