Sorting a table by date

What's the best to sort a table in Word by date? When I
try to sort by date, it still does not sort correctly.
Any tips?

Any help would be appreciated.

When you display Word's Sort dialog, there's a listbox called 'type' -
Select Date. The sorting will work if the dates are formatted in a way that
Word can interpret (depends on your computer's regional settings).
 
Check the date formats. If they are consistent with the Date formats in your
computer's regional settings it will work; otherwise it won't. There's no
magic involved.
