I was looking at some older postings on how to alphabetize a single column in a Word table. I am using Office 2010. I selected the column and went to the Table tab Layout->Tools section and chose Sort. I then went to the options window and chose Sort column only.
Nothing happened. While I could sort the first column only in a table if I chose it, if I tried a different column this didn't work.
What I finally figured out was that this would only work if I was viewing the document in Draft mode. If I viewed it in Print Layout Mode, the option for sorting a single column wouldn't work.
Is this just my computer? Do I have possibly have something on my computer e.g. a Word add-in or something else interfering? Or is this a MS Word quirk in Office 2010?
