Sony P900 Sync issue with Calendar

B

Brian Long

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience of synchronising the Sony P900 phone with
Office 2003?

All works well, and things sync fine with contacts and tasks, but the
Calendar never seems to be found! I have looked at the Sync settings in the
P900 app, and tried all possibilities of choosing the Calendar folder, but
whilst it clearly shows the other things are being sent to the phone, it
refuses to see anything in my calendar and so the phone calendar stays
empty. The sync app gets as far as Initializing on the Calendar line, but
then immediately jumpt to Done

Anyone got an suggestions to help me overcome this problem?

Thanks

More info. After removing all the other things and just trying to sync the
Calendar, it actually never gets past the point of initialising. I suspect
this is related to my other post (see following message: Duplicate Personal
Folders Problem)

The sync app needs to be pointed at the Calendar folder. Ultimately it
stores a reference to the default Calendar folder in Personal Folders, but
since I have 2 of them, I reckon this is causing it to have a small problem
in locating what it needs

Any ideas please?

Not related to my other problem after all.

With a clean Outlook, Calendar syncing still fails. Has there been a change
in the Automation model for the Calendar part of Outlook 2003, since Office
XP? I wonder if this sync app is only certified for Office XP and older....

Looks like I was probably right. I found an update to the sync software that
claims to add support for Office 2K3, so I guess this thread is over

Have you checked with Sony's support people?

They were no help.

I found the solution from someone else who bumped into it last year. Outlook
needs to be set as the deault email application in the Internet options,
Programs tab. Yeah, even for syncing the calendar. Natch, mine wasn't set to
that, hence the problem.

The updated software to support Outlook 2003 had no effect on the situation
