Outlook 2007 - Not all contacts and appointments sync

Came across a strange problem today. Not all my contacts or appointments
will sync with my Touch Pro 2. I tried all sorts of things to fix this with
no luck. Here's what I have tried.

1. Tried a detect/repair/diagnose with no luck.
2. Remove all contacts from Outlook (after backing up) and syncing to the
phone so it clears out both sides. Added the contacts back to Outlook and
synced. Out of 900 or so contacts roughly 100 or so have not synced. I
have checked the settings in Activesync 4.5 but there are no settings for
Contacts thinking that maybe certain categories were set to sync and not
others. That's not the case. Same for the calendar, some appointments sync
but not others.

Any clues?

Do you use an Exchange account and sync to it directly or do you sync with
Outlook?

There seem to be issues when synching Windows Mobile 6.x phones via ActiveSync
because you're not the first person to report them. ActiveSync 4.5 was
written when Windows Mobile 2003 (or maybe even WM 2002) was the current
version. So far, there's no definitive solution that I've seen. Personally,
I don't expect the issues with ActiveSync will ever be addressed and that any
improvements will be by way of Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows 7.
Keep in mind that Outlook is completely passive when synching. There are no
settings in Outlook that affect synching.

Here are one reference, in a forum dedicated to synching Windows Mobile:

You might also want to ask in

ActiveSync.

Thanks Brian. Not using Exchange, just a direct connect to an Outlook pst
file.
What I'm probably going to do is install gSyncIt to sync Outlook to Google
and then set the phone up to sync with Google. That seems to work well with
other folks that I've setup with that. OTA synching is the way to go as
ActiveSync has been nothing but headaches for years.

Thanks,
Tom

Ok, scratch the Google Sync. While I can get a good/accurate sync from
Outlook to GMail, I get all sorts of crazy formatting of the name and
business name on the phone after syncing from Google.

Sure wish I could get ActiveSync to sync all contacts or come up with
another solution. I'm at a loss.
