I cannot get Movie Maker to recognize my camcorder? I
continually get error message saying nothing is connected.

I have a new RS720G Vaio with the video/audio ports on
the front where I am connecting the camcorder.

The camcorder plays fine through the TV with the same
hookup.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

This is not the correct port to use to transfer to your computer, you use
this only to play to your TV.
Your Vaio should have a IEEE 1384 port (also called Fire Wire port). This is
a rectangular port with an arrow finish on one side of the port. You should
have a cable to connect into this port with the other end connecting into
your camcorder. The output port on your camcorder should be identified DV
IN/OUT and is a small rectangular port.
I am assuming here that your camcorder has such an output port. Look into
your manual.
