My configuration:

MB Intel D875PBZ (Last Bios Updated)
Pentium4 3.0Ghz
RAM 512Mb
Asus GeForce 5600XT
Sound Blaster Audigy 2

Sometimes, when i turn on pc, the two led are turned on
but nothing happen and the monitor seems not receive signal.
So, i must turn off pc, wait some seconds and turn on again
and pc boot normally.
The first time i finished to assembly this my new pc, i tried
with an agp card of about 3 years ago (Hercules 3DProphet 4000XT)
and see this problem but the pc never boot.
So, i replaced it with an old graphic board pci (Matrox Millennium2, 4Mb)
and pc work well!
I decided to substitute the motherboard to the furnisher and also i
purchased
a new graphic board most recent (the Asus GeForce 5600XT).
The problem still persist and sometimes pc won't boot;i must turn off pc,
wait some seconds and turn on again, and pc boot normally.
I thinked the problem was in a bad RAM. But PC works fine
when i use the pci card!
I don't know what to think!
Please somebody help me!
Thanks!

It sounds like a weak power supply to me. On cold start, not enough power
to boot. After warmed up just a bit, enough power to boot. Also, your
Matrox Millenium probably only uses about half the power of your AGP GeForce
5600XP. So if your power supply is marginal, that could explain why the PCI
video card works better. -Dave

I have to agree with another poster. It sounds like a crappy power supply to
me, too. This is a good lesson to remember. Mating a hot new motherboard
and grapics card with a cheezy power supply is a waste of time and money.
Spend the few extra bucks and get a decent power supply. (Antec power
supplies are very good units for the money. Enermax and PC Power & Cooling
are also very good, albeit more expensive.)

When you turn off your computer, how are you doing that? Are you
simply letting it shut down normally via Windows, or are you actually
removing the A/C power from the PS??? If you are doing the later, then
it is possible that the logic is not being reset by the lead from the PS
that denotes power is good. In such a case, pressing your RESET button
should overcome this failure.

If on the other hand you are NOT removing A/C power from the PS and
simply shutting down normally, the suggestions regarding the weak PS are
good ones. I am assuming you have an ATX PS and an operating system
that will shut it down properly.

I want to thank all user that answer me.

For my problem i considered that can be a problem
of power supply but i thinked that was impossible
because with my pci graphic card it function normally!
So, Thanks for your explanations.

When i purchased the case (big tower) the of power supply was
already included and it has a power supply of 350W Max.
I Thinked was sufficient and not considered that could be
a bad power supply.

No, this happen in both cases. Sometimes when i only shutdown Windows
and sometimes when i remove the A/C power from PS.

When i have this problem, and press the reset button, nothing happen
pressing button, but normally the reset button works.

My operating system is Win2K, but i've reinstalled it from zero, many times
but
for another problems (conflict by programs installed).

Thank a lot for help me.
bye,

Alex.
