Ok. I installed a store bought version of FP 2k3

everything worked fine, until yesterday. Now the images i have on pages,
show up as the red x thingy. they appear fine when i preview it, and fine
when i view it live, but in FP on the design page they won't show. even the
BG won't show. it shows up as the default color i have.

i have emptied everything temp on my computer, and i don't know what else to
do.
i uninstalled, and reinstalled it, to no avail.

can anyone help me please??
Jeff

I can give you a URL, but it looks fine when live www.gig-gamers.com
it only is x'd out in fp itself. these images have been in the web for like
3 years. however, I did just recently MOVE to a new server

J

Jeff

i open my sites by clicking the dropdown next to the folder, and clicking my
networks places, then opening the web. everything else works fine.

J

Jeff

explain both sides please. they show up in preview for that page in FP, they
show up when live, but they don't show up in design view in FP. i can split
the code and design, and they don't show up.

In your design view, right click on the x'd out image and tell us what the
path is.

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP
Cleaner.

Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files and the
Cache(*.web) files.

See if it fixes it.

Run the FP Cleaner function that restores the Default toolbars and Menus and
see what happens.

Well, Jeff, according to some of the images I looked at, they are *not* in
the images folder. For example: http://www.gig-gamers.com/GIG/heslop1.jpg

Ok, I'm confused.
I looked at your home page and there are no images on the page.
There is flash and word art.
Or is this not the page with the problem.

J

Jeff

no, that is not the page with the problem. actually, on the ourput side..
there are no problems.
the problem is that while using FP, i cannot see them on the page i am
viewing in the design view.

take a look at this. this is what i see in FP
http://gig-gamers.com/tourney-zone/test1.asp
now look at
http://www.gig-gamers.com/GIG/ladder/current.asp

as you can see, the images show up on the webpage, but they won't show up
while i am viewing that page in FP.

i hope this shows what i am talking about

J

Jeff

i forgot to mention, that the page in FP looks weird, because the table is
scripted with asp. but you should get the jest of it

S

Steve Easton

Ok.

Is the problem only in that one page, or all pages.??

What was done with the computer between the time it worked and the time it
quit working??

Have you tried recalculating hyperlinks??

Have you tried clicking View > Reports > Problems > Hyperlinks

J

Jeff

the only change that was made was i installed FP 2k3. yes it is a store
bought version. even after the install, it worked for like a day, then it
started acting this way.

i have tried to recalculate the hyperlinks. when i viewed the
reports--problems-- it did not have any of the pages or pic urls in there
