Joel,

not much of a help based on your description. If you have trouble with other
applications that heavily use sound and graphics (e.g. games or other
multimedia apps) than I'd recommend to update your graphics drivers and/or
sound drivers. You might want to run a system check (CPUm, RAM,...) anyway
to see if there are some general issues with your box. If you get an error
report, pelase have a look at the details to find out if it always breaks
the same way or if these breaks occur randomly.
