Windows xp has rendered all my removable storage drives totally inaccessible!
If i put a DVD rom into my rom drive it changes it in the my computer screen
to a CD drive and nothing happens....if I try to use my floppy drive and put
a disk in, I double click the drive in my computer and it says: A:\ is
inaccessible incorrect function....if I put any cd disk into my cd-rw drive
the darn thing comes up as blank!

When i go to the hardware device manager windows says all the drives are
working fine, and when i try to update the drivers it says i already have the
best ones. Now I have only had windows xp pro as an operating system for a
couple of weeks, and I have NO restore point.....

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me how to fix this!!!

Yikes, that sounds bad. Either some major corruption or a virus (or both).
Well, since you've only had it for a couple of weeks you probably won't miss
much by doing a full system reload.
Curious, the system didn't have this problem from the start, did it? Was
there any system changes (hardware, software, configuration) that brought
about this crippling situation?
