Some of my favorites are .. neutered?

This is odd. Some of my favorites no longer work. You click on them, and
get nothing, IE simply sits there.

So I went into /favorites/links and took a look. There are many shortcut
files, all are reported as "internet shortcuts" .. but if you right click
and bring up properties on a good, working link, it'll have a tab that says
"Web Document" with the HTTP:// address. However, there are a bunch that if
you right click/properties, it will NOT have the "Web Document" tab.

Upon clicking on those, nothing happens. It's as if those favorites are
neutered somehow. They are favorites, but yet they are impotent. WTF?

Any ideas?

Hi Duncan,

Do the non working shortcuts have the .URL extension? Also, verify the file
size of each shortcut. The contents of the URL file can be viewed using
Notepad. It would look like this:

- - -
[DEFAULT]
BASEURL=http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/
[InternetShortcut]
URL=http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/
IconFile=http://www.experts-exchange.com/images/ee.ico
IconIndex=1
- - -

In case of 0 byte .URL files, simply delete them and add one by one again.
