I go to the internet options and hit clear history and most of the items in my history clear, but there are a few stubborn ones that just won't go away. This has been going on for months and I now have about 40 sites that have taken up permanant residence and won't leave. Anyone have any ideas? I'm using Windows XP Pro and IE 6.0

This may be caused by either spyware or adware, I would
try running Spybto search and destroy or Adaware first.

I totally agree with Matt on this, so here are the links:

Remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from www.security.kolla.de
and Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs
before running them. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal
tools in Safe Mode. I assume you *are* running a current (post-2002
version using updated definitions) antivirus program. If you don't have
one, you should get one ASAP.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. My comp runs a lot faster now, but still my history won't completely clear. Any other ideas?

Try removing the files in Safe Mode. You might also want to download
HijackThis from http://merijn.org/ and then post the log file in the
forums at www.spywareinfo.com.

Good luck,

Malke
