Some Favorites missing

First, thanks to Warren for responding to past post
concerning missing items in IE6 favorites. However,
unchecking "Enable Personalized Favorites Menu" was not
the answer because it was already unchecked.
A more detailed explanation of the problem:
At some point in the past week, some of my Favorites items
disappeared in IE6. These included some specific items
and some subfolders (with all their included items), but
not all. For instance, one folder that lost items still
contains others. The missing items and folders can be
found in the Favorites folder by using Windows Explorer.
All is really there, except some items are not displayed
in IE.
I am thinking there is an indexing function or file that
is not updated or is corrupted, but I don't have any idea
how to figure this out.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the attributes of the "missing" files and folders?
Perhaps they are Hidden?
