Some email attachments do not open, why?

All emails that have been forwarded to me at my Outlook 2000 (in XP Home Ed.)
inbox with attachments other than jpegs show that I am unable to open because
I do not have the particular form.

By the way, the same emails sent to my home computer (also Outlook 2000, but
Win 98 SE)) open without any problems.
 
Do you have another mail program on the computer that is giving you
problems?

Iv'e encountered a similar problem when using outlook 2000 with a computer
that is also running groupwise 6.5.1. attached email messages won't display,
whereas other attachments are OK.
